Budapest and Beyond

The group arrives to Budapest airport – Round trip by bus and first rendezvous with the city to see the beautiful view of the capital. – Transfer to the reserved hotel and check in - End of the services of our local guide. Breakfast in the hotel. 9: 00 City sightseeing: Castle district, which is on the list of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. 11:00 Explore and enjoy the serenity on Margaret Island: the island provides a peaceful hideaway from hectic downtown Budapest with large green areas, flowery gardens, old trees, and lots of entertainment. The island’s attractions include romantic walkways, medieval ruins, a small zoo, musical fountain, a water tower, swimming pools, a water park, open air theatre and cinema, and some great clubs. 13.00 Sandwich lunch on the island 14:50 Boat trip on the river Danube - back to the city centre (Gellért tér) on the public transport boat. 15:30 Walk to the Great Market Hall on the Liberty Bridge The Central Market Hall is the largest and oldest indoor market in Budapest. From 17:00 free time: Walking along Váci Street. It is the most renowned pedestrian shopping street of Budapest. It stretches to a little more than a mile between Vörösmarty Square and the Great Market Hall. 20:00 Dinner in a restaurant (3 courses without water) Our guide service ends after the dinner. Breakfast in the hotel. 9:00 Departure to the Mátra Hill, Parádsasvár. 11:00 The Magic of the Glass - Glass blowing workshop The glass making in Parádsasvár and the ART Glass Parád mananufacturing has a great past. In 1708, 305 years ago, II. Rákoczi Ferenc created in the neighbouring village the first glass factory in Parádóhuta. In 1973 two artists from the glass-making industry created a small manufacture to continue Parád glassmaking tradition. During the workshop participants will discover how to manipulate, gather, form and blow glass. 13:00 Lunch in a restaurant at Parádsasvár. 14:30 Excursion to the Ilona Valley Waterfall: The fall is the highest among the three waterfalls of our the country, measuring ca. 10 metres. The group will walk through the picturesque Ilona valley, taste sour fizzy water (csevice) and admire Ilona waterfall. 16:30 Transfer to Eger. 17:30 Take up the rooms of the reserved hotel. From 17:30 free time. The group will be accommodated in the local 3 starts hotel at Eger. 19:00 Tasting selected wines of the region, dinner in the winery. In summary, guests will enjoy: Six individual wines (including 4 red wines, 1 rose and 1 white wine). Specially prepared antipasti platter with fresh bread and mineral water and traditional Hungarian dinner (homemade main dish and dessert). Overnight at the hotel (Bus available all day long.)

10:00 City sightseeing at Eger. Eger is very rich in historic sites. Not just the number of sights is impressive, but also the diversity of them. The Castle, the minaret, the underground town, the basilica and that's just the tip of the iceberg! The group will walk down in the main square, Dobó Square, the Turkish minaret and the Basilica. Afterwards participants will have the chance to visit the episcopal cellar system under the town, called the "Town under the town." 14:00 Lunch at a local restaurant (2 courses without water). 15:30 Transfer to Tiszabábolna, the village belongs to the Protected Landscape Area of Borsod region and is located next to the Tisza Lake Bird Reserve. 16:30 Arrival to the hosting guesthouse. Welcome drink. From 16:30 free time. Enjoy the surrounding. Optional program: Walk down to the river Tisza. 18:30 Dinner at the local restaurant (3 dishes without water). Overnight at the guesthouse. 9:00 Breakfast with local specialities. 10:00 Safari Interestingly, the abundance of nature’s treasures in the Lake Tisza region can be attributed to it being a man-made formation because of the conversion of a former floodplain of River Tisza into a huge pond, which produced an extremely diverse surface uncharacteristic of any lake of natural origin. Lake Tisza offers you a special blend of nature and water not found anywhere else in Central Europe. Our guide will take the group on a motor-boat to enjoy the peerless atmosphere of this romantic water-world and bird paradise all day. We will see plenty of white and yellow flowers of big Water-Lily, Floating Heart and Water chestnut fields, decorating the lake wonderfully, and the group can watch many Gulls, Cormorants, Herons, Mallards, Whiskered or Black Terns, Coots, Great Crested Grebes, Marsh Harriers, and several other birds among the reeds and woods in the narrow branches and channels, and on the huge open water surfaces. Participants will even take a walk on a small hidden island, to get a deeper insight into the extremely rich flora and fauna of the area, and the life of the local fishermen. 14:30 After this unique experience, lunch will be served in a famous, old Csárda Restaurantnext to the Lake Tisza. (2 courses without water). Later the group can have some rest at a lovely little beach or swim in the lake. 17:00 Voyage back to Tiszabábolna on the River Tisza. 20:00 Dinner at the local restaurant (3 courses without water). Overnight.

10:00 Breakfast with local specialties. 11:00 Bicycle tour Enjoy another day next to the Lake Tisza and Tisza river with exciting outdoor activities. The group gets to the Tisza river, and cycles along the river, passing by wonderful forests and along the shore with several resort villages, beaches. You will see many different faces and beautiful colours of the lake and the nature. 13:00 Lunch: The tour will stop at a lovely little beach to swim, and taste a rather popular typical Hungarian "fast food", the "Lángos” (fried dough) and “palacsinta” (pan cakes), which is always delicious and fresh here. After this pleasant break, cycle back to our guesthouse to have a rest before going back to Budapest. 17:00 Transfer to Budapest. 19:00 Take up the rooms at the hotel. 20:00 Dinner at the hotel (3 courses with water). Overnight at the hotel. (Bus will be available all day long.)
